Saving our synthetic seas

The Vail Symposium’s Wells Fargo Unlimited Adventure Series continues Tuesday, August 27 at the Donovan Pavilion with “Saving our Synthetic Seas.” From the mountains to the seas, we are filling our oceans with plastic trash. The 5 Gyres Institute has sailed over 40,000 miles through the 5 subtropical gyres, where garbage patches reside. Join Marcus Eriksen, 5 Gyres co-founder and executive director, for a presentation about his adventures and a story about why we must move back to a society of responsible consumption. The presentation starts at 6 p.m. following a reception at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are pay-at-will with a suggested donation of $10. Reservations are recommended. Call 970-476-0954 or go to www.vailsymposium.org for more information and to reserve your spot today!
