Saving our synthetic seas News News | Aug 25, 2013 The Vail Symposiumâs Wells Fargo Unlimited Adventure Series continues Tuesday, August 27 at the Donovan Pavilion with âSaving our Synthetic Seas.â From the mountains to the seas, we are filling our oceans with plastic trash. The 5 Gyres Institute has sailed over 40,000 miles through the 5 subtropical gyres, where garbage patches reside. Join Marcus Eriksen, 5 Gyres co-founder and executive director, for a presentation about his adventures and a story about why we must move back to a society of responsible consumption. The presentation starts at 6 p.m. following a reception at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are pay-at-will with a suggested donation of $10. Reservations are recommended.
