Schiff named school district chief communications officer
EAGLE – Eagle County Schools announced Tammy Schiff has been appointed as the district’s chief communications officer. Schiff will report directly to Superintendent Jason Glass and will be responsible for the district’s communications and marketing strategies.
Schiff previously held executive positions in marketing and strategy with Allonhill and Starz Entertainment in Denver and business operations with Silicon Graphics, NavTech and AAA.
Most recently, she was a principal advisor with Graymatters LLC, a private consulting firm focusing on business strategy, marketing and executive leadership training for technology, nonprofit and privately held companies.
Schiff was an active volunteer in the Denver nonprofit community and served on the regional board of directors of the Anti-Defamation League and Hillel of Colorado. She earned a Masters of Business Administration from Emory University and a Bachelor of Arts from Tulane University.
“We’re excited that Tammy has joined our team,” said Superintendent Glass. “Her extensive corporate and nonprofit experience will be extremely valuable in building and implementing effective communications strategies to support our schools, parents, students and the community at large.”
Schiff moved to the valley last fall with her husband, John Stearns, and their two children.
The Vail-based Gore Valley Citizens Alliance has announced it has filed for “judicial review” of the town’s decision regarding the Booth Heights workforce housing project. That request was filed in 5th Judicial District Court in Eagle.
