Schilling drops out of Vail council race
Vail, CO Colorado
VAIL ” An East Vail man has dropped out of the race for Vail Town Council, bringing the number of candidates down to 10.
Robert Schilling said Monday he changed his mind and has exited the race. Schilling, a real estate agent, had submitted his petition to run on Friday.
The candidates that remain in the race are Dick Cleveland, Stephen Connolly, Andy Daly, Kevin Foley, Dave Irwin, Bob McKown, Kim Newbury, Scott Proper, Margaret Rogers and Susie Tjossem.
Five of the seven seats are open in this November’s election. Greg Moffet and Rod Slifer are term-limited and cannot run again. Kent Logan has decided not to run for re-election, while Foley and Newbury are seeking another term.
The top five vote-getters win terms.
The election is Nov. 6. A candidates debate is scheduled for 6 p.m. Oct. 18 at Donovan Pavilion.
