Science teacher attends convention

EDWARDS – Mindy Larson, science teacher at Vail Christian High School, attended the 2005 Southern Regional National Science Teachers Association Convention in Nashville. The organization’s conventions bring together thousands of science teachers and top scientists from universities, businesses and industries for professional development events.In addition to picking up engaging classroom activities and being exposed to cutting edge laboratory and research techniques, this year’s convention also provided Larson with opportunities to network with leading scientists and experts in the fields of biotechnology and lab design, she said. Larson is collaborating with design specialists and architects on the new science labs for the high school, and will be attending a biotechnology institute in April to help develop the new biotechnology program that will be instilled at Vail Christian, she said.Vail, Colorado
