Scott Tipton defeats Gail Schwartz in Colorado’s 3rd Congressional District
Incumbent Republican Scott Tipton defeated Democratic challenger Gail Schwartz Tuesday night, reclaiming his seat in Colorado’s sprawling 3rd Congressional District.
With 75 percent of the projected vote counted, Tipton won with 173,897 votes, or 54 percent, to Schwartz’ 131,695 votes, or 41 percent, as of 1 a.m. Wednesday. The Associated Press called the race for Tipton at 11:33 p.m. Tuesday.
