Search for singles begins Wednesday in Avon

Don’t be shy, singles. The Vail Daily and TV8 begin their search Wednesday night for the valley’s top bachelors and bachelorettes.

Are you the candidate we’re looking for?

Drop by Loaded Joe’s in Avon to nominate yourself or a friend. We’ll auction off dates with the winners at a future event and give the proceeds to charity. The top singles will also star in a feature story in the newspaper.

Here’s how we’ll choose the winners.

All contestants will receive an invitation to one of next week’s singles mixers. During the mixers, a panel of judges will ask the nominees some questions, and snap their photos.

Look for a pair of feature stories announcing the winners on Wednesday, Nov. 12 and Thursday, Nov. 13.

Finally, we’ll auction off dates with the top bachelors and bachelorettes and send the proceeds to the Vail Valley Salvation Army. Plus, the winners and their dates will receive gift certificates to local restaurants.

This year marks the third bachelor/bachelorette contest. Last year, we received nearly 60 nominations for a similar competition, and our auction raised more than $2,600 for the Salvation Army. We’re expecting even more stellar candidates this year. So go ahead, strut your stuff. You just might be the one we’ve been looking for.
