Second Annual Eagle River Float is Friday
EDWARDS – Join the U.S. national rafting champions from both men’s and women’s national Whitewater Raft Teams to have this once in a lifetime experience of rafting down the Eagle River for the Eagle River Watershed Council’s second annual Eagle River Float. The event will go on rain, snow or shine! The Eagle River Watershed Council has spent the past three years working on the Edwards Eagle River restoration project. The project stretches 1.6 miles from the former B&B gravel pit (and former home of the event presenting sponsor) to Hillcrest Bridge just west of the Edwards Wastewater Treatment Plant. This strategic, but degraded, reach of the river has traditionally disconnected high quality fish and riparian habitats upstream and downstream. When the work is complete, nearly 50 continuous miles of healthy habitat will be linked.Raft trip guests will be deposited into the Eagle at B&B in rafts donated by Lakota and Nova Guides and Timberline Tours at 4 p.m.. A dinner and party follow at 6 p.m. at Crazy Mountain Brewery in Edwards. To make a reservation and purchase tickets, email firstname.lastname@example.org, or go to the Watershed Council’s website at http://www.erwc.org and look under “Events.” Questions? Call 970-827-5406.Tickets are $60 per person for the float and for dinner, or $30 for the dinner party only. Kids 12 and under are $15 each.
