Security guard robbed on Vail Mountain
VAIL MOUNTAIN – A Vail Mountain security guard said he was robbed at gunpoint one night last week while patrolling the mountain. The alleged robber was putting logs into an SUV when the guard asked him what he was doing. The guard says the man pulled out a gun and held him “against his will,” the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office said. The robber did not ask for the security guard’s wallet, but asked for his shoes before driving off down the mountain. The guard described the robber as a white male between 40 to 45 years old with salt-and-pepper hair. The guard said the man was wearing a hat and looked like he hadn’t shaved or bathed in days. The man was driving a silver, older model Toyota 4 Runner with unknown plates. The robber could face charges including first-degree kidnapping, false imprisonment, aggravated robbery, felony menacing and disorderly conduct.Eagle County Crime Stoppers is searching for information that will lead to the arrest and conviction of the suspect or suspects involved in these cases.
