Semantics aside

Fredric Butler, Eagle

Thanks to Frances Rolater’s article, I now know the definition of a “mall” and a “lifestyle center.” Nevertheless, both would be a congregation of many oversized stores that do not fit the local economy, the Eagle Area Community Plan or the ambiance of a small western town. Frances has given me a good lesson in English, but she has dodged the point that this project is not a good fit for the economy of our time, and is definitely a misfit for our place. Her conclusion that Eagle River Station “… is a good deal for Eagle …” is a strange read of the application; query ” who was it that said the HMS Titanic was a good deal for Britain?

Yes, Frances has already bought her ticket, but must Eagle have to be the coal stoker in the hold of this megalith?
