• Senior lunch, noon at the Golden Eagle Senior Center in Eagle, $2.50 suggested donation for people 60 or older. Home pick-ups and drop-offs are available. Call 970-328-8896 for reservations and information.

Eighth annual Senior Health Fair and Expo

When: Sept. 14, 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Where: Colorado Mountain College – Edwards.

What: The Senior Health Fair focuses on the health of older adults by offering screenings, clinic services and health education booths. Screenings include vision and hearing, foot and balance, skin and memory. Clinic services will include discussion of blood lab results, glucose, blood pressures and oxygen level checks and flu shots (with Medicare card). Health education will include CPR and AED (automatic external defibrillator) demonstrations and information from local providers.

This year, the Senior Health Fair has expanded to include a keynote presentation by expert gerontologist Dr. Jeffery Wallace. Also new for this year will be a “Lunch and Learn” presented by Tracy Miller, of Colorful Cooking and TV8, for $5 per person. During the lunch, she will share information on how to incorporate fruits and vegetables into every meal. Call 970-328-8831 to RSVP for the Lunch and Learn session.
