BEAVER CREEK Each year, the Park Hyatt in Beaver Creek hosts seniors from three retirement communities for an afternoon of holiday fun.

The groups travel from the senior centers in Basalt, Eagle and Minturn, and are treated to a very special lunch and activities. Santa makes an appearance, handing out gifts to each guest and Helmut Fricker entertains with his music and his delightful sense of humor. Frank Doll, the storyteller at the Park Hyatt, has been friends with many of the citizens for years, and reminisces with them about the early years in the valley. After lunch, the group plays an old favorite, Bingo. The event is at no cost to the seniors or the centers, and is assisted in funding by Beaver Creek Resorts Company.During the holiday season, we bring seniors into Beaver Creek who may not otherwise be able to come. We say thanks to them being an important part of our county, said Peach Duty of the Park Hyatt.
