VAIL, Colorado – Is the forecast a good sign for the ski season economy in Vail, Colorado?

Those who argue good snow outweighs economic fears will be challenged this week as several days of snow are forecast with only weeks until Vail and Beaver Creek mountains open.

Light snow could fall today, tonight and Saturday, but another strong Pacific snowstorm is forecast to move into the area Sunday and Monday, according the National Weather Service.

The chance of snow continues through Thursday, the weather service says.

Along with the forecast, what’s still up in the air is whether the snow will excite skiers and snowboarders to make hotel reservations in Vail.
