BOND, Colorado ” A man authorities have called a “sexually violent predator” has found a home in Bond, the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office said.

The Sheriff’s Office said it will closely monitor Jason Scott Tuffo, 36, during his probation. Tuffo was released from Eagle County jail more than a week ago.

A person is designated a “sexually violent predator” when authorities think there is a high risk the person will commit another sex crime.

Tuffo was arrested Dec. 19, 2005, after a girl reported that Tuffo grabbed her neck, hit her nose with his wrist watch and put her in a head lock, according to a Sheriff’s Office report.

The girl said that she had been having sex and had been in an “intimate relationship” with Tuffo for a month, the report says.

Tuffo eventually pleaded guilty to a charge of “sexual assault with a ten-year age difference” and assault, both misdemeanors.

In 2006, Tuffo pleaded guilty to failing to register as a sex offender, a felony.

Tuffo wears glasses, is 5 feet, 6 inches and 140 pounds.
