Short Story Competition

From now through Saturday, Oct. 14, the teen department of the Eagle Valley Library District will accept submissions for its short story competition. Each branch (Gypsum, Eagle and Avon) will select its own first-, second- and third-place winners. First place authors receive a Kindle Fire, second place a $20 gift card to Wal-Mart and third place a $5 gift card to Sundae Ice Cream in Edwards. All of the winning authors will have the option to have their stories published on the Library’s Teen Reviews blog.

Stories can be fiction or nonfiction, but must be between 1,000-1,500 words focusing on the topic of fear. Teen authors can submit their typed stories to only one branch via email to in Gypsum, in Eagle or in Avon. Competition is open to teens only (grades sixth through 12th). Get creative and unleash your story.
