EAGLE — The popular Moe’s Original BBQ Showdown Town free concert series, presented by the Vail Valley Foundation, the Town of Eagle, and Bonfire Brewing, opens Thursday, July 2, when Tori Pater and the Dyrty Byrds take the stage at the Eagle Town Park at 6:30 p.m.

As in years past, concert-goers are welcome to bring their own coolers and folding chairs, and food vendors will be offering food for sale as well. New this year, Bonfire Brewing will be offering on-site public beer sales.

A bike-decoration station will be available for kids who want to get their bikes outfitted for the Fourth of July, and other kids’ events and activities will be ongoing this week and all through the summer concert series, which runs through Aug. 13.

The Dyrty Byrds will kick off the series with their special brand of Rocky Mountain music with Southern rock roots. Eric Martinez (aka “Bloodkin”) and Tori Pater (aka “Polytoxic”) share in the band’s songwriting duties, and together they hit on a wide range of musical styles ranging from Tori’s smokey blues numbers to Eric’s pop rockers. All of which are brought to life by Mike “Spanky” McCluer and Andrew Clapp in the rhythm section.

The Dyrty Birds will be followed this year with a strong lineup of artists that include Raelyn Nelson, Willie Nelson’s granddaughter, and the Freddy Jones Band, who close out the free music series Aug. 13.
