EAGLE COUNTY – Sherman & Howard’s Ken Siegel has been elected to the board of directors of Roundup River Ranch. Based in the Vail Valley, Roundup River Ranch is a medically supported camp for kids with chronic and life-threatening illnesses. They welcomed their first campers in July 2011 and offer programming including arts and crafts, fishing, a challenge course, canoeing, archery, horses, music, theatre, discovery and more free of charge to children and their families. Siegel is a member of Sherman & Howard’s Commercial Litigation Practice Group as well as the firm’s executive committee. He has extensive experience conducting trails and settlement negotiation in complex litigation and class actions. He graduated from the University of Denver College of Law in 1975, where he was an associate editor of the University of Denver Law Review and earned his bachelor of science from the University of Colorado in 1972. Roundup River Ranch is a medically-supported camp for kids with chronic and life-threatening illnesses – the place where they can truly feel incredible, no matter what illness they’re battling. They put the focus on campers’ fun, not their conditions. And most importantly, the camp gives kids an experience that encourages their lives, allowing them to simply enjoy the fun, games and joys of childhood – for free.Activities including a challenge course, music and theater, arts and crafts, campfires, archery, games and more put the simple possibilities of childhood within reach. The weeklong camp is free to campers and their families, and fully funded through donations. The medical director, nursing director and volunteer physicians and nurses provide round-the-clock medical care and support in a state-of-the-art medical facility.
