Sign up for a library card
Vail, CO Colorado
EAGLE COUNTY, Colorado – September is Library Card Sign-up Month, and patrons are encouraged to rediscover their local library by checking out what’s new and signing up for a library card if they don’t already have one. Throughout the month, the Avon, Eagle and Gypsum Public Libraries are conducting a library trivia contest. The winner will receive an Amazon Kindle – a prize that can be used to utilize the libraries’ rich collection of downloadable eBooks.
“September is back to school time and Library Card Sign Up month,” said Cortni O’Brien, a Librarian at the Avon Public Library. “It is the perfect time to remind current and future library patrons about everything the libraries have to offer. Not only do cardholders have access to books and magazines, but the libraries also have online research tools, movies, music downloads, eBooks, audio books and more-your library card is truly a ticket to a wealth of information.”
Library cards for the Eagle Valley Library District are free. To get one, patrons need to present an item with proof of a valid mailing address (i.e. a piece of canceled mail), and photo identification.

Are we seeing more bears because there are more bears on the valley floor, or because we’re all spending more time at home? It could be a bit of both.
