Don’t be shy, singles. The Vail Daily begins its search tonight for the valley’s top bachelors and bachelorettes.

Are you the candidate we’re looking for?

Drop by Loaded Joe’s in Avon to nominate yourself or a friend. We’ll auction off dates with the winners at a future event and give the proceeds to charity. The top singles will also star in a feature story in the newspaper.

Here’s how we’ll choose the winners.

First, we’ll ask the candidates a bunch of questions. Then, over the next few weeks, a panel of Vail Daily staffers and past contest winners will select the top five men and top five women.

Look for a pair of feature stories announcing the winners on Thursday, Nov. 15 and Friday, Nov. 16.

Finally, we’ll auction off dates with the top bachelors and bachelorettes and send the proceeds to a local charity. Plus, the winners and their dates will receive gift certificates to local restaurants.

This year marks the second bachelor/bachelorette contest. Last year, we received more than 80 nominations for a similar competition organized by our sister paper, the Vail Trail. We’re expecting even more stellar candidates this year. So go ahead, strut your stuff. You just might be the one we’ve been looking for.
