Sinkhole fixed; Denver’s I-25 reopens Saturday
DENVER, Colorado ” Interstate 25 is expected to fully reopen Saturday morning, about nine days after three northbound lanes collapsed into a 40-foot-wide sinkhole near downtown Denver.
The 16-foot-deep sinkhole was caused when a water line burst last week, just before the afternoon rush hour.
Colorado Department of Transportation officials say crews were unable to do any road work due to snow Thursday, but work is scheduled to resume Friday.
At 8 p.m. Friday, traffic on northbound I-25 will be reduced to one lane through the repair site north of downtown Denver.
All lanes of the highway will reopen at 5:30 a.m. Saturday.
