DOTSERO — Stoneyard Distillery will kick off the summer season with an outdoor sunset yoga class, Sip & Stretch, on Saturday. The event is designed to bring members of the community together to enjoy beautiful views, gentle stretching and rum. The yoga is geared toward everyone, from the seasoned professional to the person who has never done yoga in his or her life.
Keni Herman, a local yoga teacher and creator of the Singletree Community Yoga Program, will lead the practice. Herman believes yoga isn’t about having the best posture, being the most flexible or having more spiritual awareness than anyone else. Yoga is about unity: unity of the mind, body and spirit.
Yoga is how you treat other people and yourself, she said. Yoga is taking time to do something that is good for your body.
Herman is especially excited about her partnership with Stoneyard Distillery, as it combines her love of yoga and her love of good, local rum. To learn more about the distillery, visit http://www.stoneyarddistillery.com.
