‘Sisters’ is Vail library’s theme tonight

VAIL, Colorado –Vail’s library tonight presents “A Sisters Celebration.”

The event, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., features Jan Freeman, poet and director of Paris Press, and writer Tsipi Keller, a contributor who will read from the book “Sisters: an anthology.”

“Sisters: an anthology” includes fiction, nonfiction, and poetry that focuses on the relationship between sisters. “Sisters” is for anyone who knows sisters, wishes they had a sister, adores her own sister, or would, on occasion, like to trade her in.

Contributors include Margaret Atwood, Barbara Kingsolver, Edwidge Danticat, Alice Walker, Joan Baez, Ruth Prawer Jhabvala, Mary Karr, Grace Paley, Wendy Wasserstein, Maxine Kumin, Rita Dove, Dorothy Parker, M.F.K. Freeman also is the author of three books of poetry: “Simon Says,” “Hyena,” “Autumn Sequence,” and a new manuscript, “Blue Structure.” She has two sisters. Keller is the author of eight books, including the novels “Retelling” and “Jackpot.” She is the translator and editor of “Poets on the Edge: An Anthology of Contemporary Hebrew Poetry” and “The Hymns of Job and Other Poems” by Maya Bejerano. She has one sister.
