DENVER, Colorado ” The Colorado Bureau of Investigation has added a new map search link to the state’s sex offender Web site that allows people to create a map and search for registered sex offenders by address, city, county or ZIP code, said CBI spokesman Lance Clem.

Juveniles and those convicted of misdemeanors aren’t included on the site, but a complete list is available from local law enforcement or can be ordered from the CBI, Clem said.

There are five different symbols that pop up on the new maps that make it easier for people to identify who’s living in their neighborhood, Clem said.

He said almost 6,500 are on the state’s sex offender registry and the state gets several thousand inquiries each month.
