Skate for a good cause in Eagle

EDWARDS, Colorado – Lace up the skates for the fifth annual MS Skate-A-Thon. Skaters will gather at the Eagle Ice Rink on Oct. 13 from 5-7 p.m. to raise money for Can Do Multiple Sclerosis’s lifestyle empowerment programs for people and families living with MS.”MS Skate-A-Thon is an event I created to bring together our local community and get them involved in supporting the mission behind Can Do MS,” said Tara Lane, Can Do MS staff, event organizer and local figure skating and hockey power skating coach. “This event offers a great opportunity to give back and help more people living with MS attend a Can Do MS program with the funds we raise.”Skaters will collect as many pledges as possible leading up to the event. Pledges are typically given in flat amounts or per lap skated during the two hour event. All ages and abilities are welcome to participate and skate rentals are available. Walk-ins may participate and skate by making a donation at the event.Don’t skate? Participate just by raising money or supporting a skater.
