Ski and Snowboard Club Vail fundraiser is April 15

Vail, CO Colorado

VAIL – Ski and Snowboard Club Vail is hosting the 10th annual Chad Fleischer Ski and Tee, a morning ski race and afternoon golf scramble, April 15.

The scholarship fundraiser was established by former U.S. Ski Team Member and Ski and Snowboard Club Vail alumnus Chad Fleischer after he suffered a season-ending crash while attempting to qualify for his third Olympics in 2002.

While recovering from his injuries, Fleischer, a golf enthusiast, came up with the idea for a scholarship event pairing his two passions.

The Ski and Tee is a chance for participants to win a champion trophy and Calcutta payout while supporting Ski and Snowboard Club Vail’s Scholarship Fund. The event kicks off in the morning with a ski/snowboard race at the Golden Peak race arena on Vail Mountain at 9 a.m., with the afternoon golf scramble starting at 1 p.m. at the Eagle Ranch Golf Club.

Individual entries cost $150. Team (foursome) entries cost $500. Entry includes a Thursday evening welcome reception at The Fitz in Manor Vail from 7 to 9 p.m. with Calcutta and pro auction, Friday breakfast at Manor Vail Lodge in Vail, race on Golden Peak at Vail Mountain, lunch and golf at Eagle Ranch Golf Club with the apres and awards party to follow at Luigis Pastahouse in Eagle Ranch. Lift tickets not included.

For those not interested in competing, social entries cost $50 and include access to all events.

All competitors and “social attendees” will be entered into a drawing for a heli trip. The drawing will take place at the apres and awards party after the golf scramble at Luigis Pastahouse on Friday evening. You must be present to win.

Race and golf with stars including former U.S. Ski Team members the Puckett brothers, both Casey and Chris, plus Swedish Ski Team standout Patrik Jaerbyn.

Proceeds from this event directly benefit Ski and Snowboard Club Vail’s Scholarship Fund and help ensure the Vail Valley’s youth have the opportunity to participate in Ski and Snowboard Club Vail’s world-class snowsports programs – snowboard and alpine race, freeride, freestyle and Nordic. SSCV awarded more than $115,000 in scholarship dollars to more than 90 SSCV athletes. This was more money and more athletes than ever before – and the need keeps growing.

Special lodging rates are available at the Manor Vail Lodge for 20 percent off the best available rate. Visit or call 800-950-8245 for reservations. Use corporate/promotion code “SSCV” when booking.
