Ski down, party slated to honor Tony Seibert
VAIL — Of course there’s a party for Tony Seibert and his friends. It’s Friday.
Seibert died a year ago when he was caught in an avalanche in East Vail Chutes. His celebration of life a few days later was exactly that. This will be, too.
The gathering begins at the top of Chair 4 on Vail Mountain around 3 p.m. At 4 p.m., there’s a ski down, by way of Riva Ridge, the run named in honor of the 10th Mountain Division in which Tony’s grandfather and Vail founder Pete Seibert served.
Later, there’s a party at the Vail Ale House, a benefit for the Colorado Avalanche Information Center. The band starts at 9 p.m.
The event has been dubbed “Pardee On,” for Tony Pardee Seibert.
Patrick Tvarkunas needed 237 signatures on a petition to let Eagle voters decide whether The Reserve at Hockett Gulch — a 500-unit workforce housing project — should be built. He and others submitted 304.
