Ski season on verge of Colorado record
Vail, CO Colorado
DENVER, Colorado ” Skier visits during the thick of winter were up nearly 7 percent across Colorado.
The more than 5.5 million visitors who skied and snowboard at Colorado’s ski resorts puts the industry just behind last season, which saw a record for visits.
“What started as a relatively slow beginning to the season has turned into one of the most memorable ski seasons for any skier and snowboarder who visited a Colorado resort during the last several months,” said Rob Perlman, chief executive of Colorado Ski Country USA.
“Even the locals are amazed at the magical combination of blue skies and fresh powder as an almost daily occurrence throughout the high country in Colorado this season,” he said.
Consistent snow and a steady increase in international visitors have played a major role in this year’s busy season, Ski County USA says.
