Skier dies at Vail
VAIL ” A 62-year-old male skier who collapsed on Vail Mountain Friday afternoon has died.
The skier, identified as David John Luttropp of Fort Collins, collapsed on Blue Ox, a double black diamond trail on Vail Mountain, according to a press release sent out by resort officials.
Ski patrollers brought the man off the mountain to a waiting ambulance and he was taken to Vail Valley Medical Center. He later was pronounced dead, according to the release.
An autopsy is scheduled for Sunday.
“We don’t have a cause of death yet,” said Eagle County Coroner Kara Bettis. “In a day or so, we’ll have more information.”
