Skier ticketed after cornice collision

VAIL ” A man who was looking for his lost his ski below a cornice got pummeled by another skier who jumped off, according to an Eagle County Sheriff’s Office report.
The first man skied off the cornice in China Bowl and lost a ski in the powder. As he was searching for his ski, a 37-year-old man jumped off the cornice going 30 miles per hour and slammed into the man’s head, the first man’s girlfriend said.
The 37-year-old skier said he’d seen the man and tried to avoid him, but it was too late, he said.
The skier’s binding did not release and the tips of his skis hit his face when he landed, the skier said. The skier’s face was swollen with black and blue bruising around his eyes, police said.
The first man broke a cheek bone, his nose, his neck and a tooth in his lower jaw.
The 37-year-old skier was ticketed for reckless endangerment and third-degree assault.
EDWARDS ” A man who refused to leave a bar bathroom was tasered by police twice after a struggle, according to an Eagle County Sheriff’s Office report.
Two men were fighting at the Gore Range Brewery and a sheriff’s deputy arrested one of the men. The man told police he had to urinate, so a deputy led him into the bathroom. The man laid on the ground and tried to slide his handcuffs to his front.
The deputy released the man’s right hand and held his left arm straight so that he could control the man.
Then another man entered the bathroom and began talking to the urinating man. Police told him to leave and he refused. Two deputies grabbed him and tried to remove him from the rest room, but the man held onto the dividers between the urinals.
A deputy told the man he was under arrest and the man refused to put his hands behind his back. The deputy tasered the man and then accidentally tasered himself. After the second taser, the deputy stopped using it because the electric current had no effect on the man, the report states.
During the struggle, a deputy inadvertently pushed the urinating man into the wall. The urinating said his teeth were loosened and he was bleeding but he deputy reported no loose teeth or blood.
The urinating man was arrested on suspicion of violating a restraining order, obstructing a peace officer and disorderly conduct.
The man who was tasered was neither arrested nor ticketed.
EDWARDS ” Two women hiking Berry Creek trail saw a man masturbating while sitting on a rock Sunday, according to an Eagle County Sheriff’s Office report.
The women began their hike from a trailhead set behind a church and a tall, skinny man in his early 40s passed them on the trail. One mile later, the women saw him masturbating.
The women waited until the man stopped and pulled up his pants. They tried to watch which way the man went, but lost sight of him.
The blonde-haired man was wearing blue jeans, a flannel shirt, work boots and wearing a baseball cap. He looked like a trucker or like a person who didn’t hike much, the women said.
BEAVER CREEK ” A New Jersey man whose $2,000 camera was stolen inside the Park Hyatt left it there because he thought the ski resort was “high-end,” according to an Eagle County Sheriff’s Office report.
A 31-year-old man left his Nikon digital camera with a telephoto lens on a bench inside and went outside to talk on his cell phone for 10 minutes. When he returned, his camera was gone.
He told police he did not expect it would be stolen at a luxury resort, he said.
