Skier who died at Keystone hit tree
KEYSTONE, Colorado ” A 43-year-old Kansas man who died after skiing on an intermediate trail at Keystone Ski Resort had struck a tree.
Summit County Coroner Joanne Richardson says Michael Howe of Andover was trying to stop when he struck the tree with his head and chest around 11:15 a.m. Sunday.
Howe was taken to Keystone Medical Center and was pronounced dead at 1:19 p.m. Richardson says he died of blunt force trauma to the chest.
Howe was in Colorado for the weekend skiing with a friend.
