EAGLE, Colorado – What do you get when you take the best of Frogs and combine it with a generous helping of Bones? In this case it’s a delightful amalgam of eclectic string music and energetic picking called Skin the Rabbit. The band will make their debut Saturday at 8 p.m. in the Bowlmor Lounge at the Back Bowl in Eagle.

The band is a blend of talent from Frogs Gone Fishin’ and bluegrass band Laughing Bones. Comprised of Bob Masters on guitar and vocals, lead singer Nick Steingart on mandolin and Patrick Pagget on Banjo, Skin the Rabbit first got together casually during the winter of 2004 to do what bluegrass musicians do best: jam. They soon discovered a synergy that quickly developed into this “bluegrass band with a twist.” With a mix of eclectic covers and foot-stomping originals, the band usually performs as a trio, while at times gaining a bit of flourish and depth with the addition of drums and sax.

This show is part of The Back Bowl’s ongoing Jammin’ at the Bowlmor music series that brings the best in local and regional acts to Eagle.
