Small business center hosts women’s conference Aug. 20
The Small Business Development Center at Colorado Mountain College is hosting a Women’s Small Business Conference at the Great Divide Lodge in Breckenridge, Aug. 20. The conference begins at 8 a.m. and ends with a networking reception from 5 – 6:30 p.m.
The event will allow local women small business owners to gain information and valuable networking contacts. Breakfast and lunch will be provided, as well as a complimentary copy of “50 Interviews with Entrepreneurs” by Brian Schwartz.
Schwartz will teach a workshop about the five distinctions of successful entrepreneurs and will sign copies of his book.
The keynote speakers are Dr. Sasha Galbraith, a partner with Jay Galbraith Management Consultants, Ltd. and Carol Hedges, a senior fiscal analyst with the Colorado Fiscal Policy Institute.
Galbraith is the author of “Anatomy of a Business” and a columnist with The Huffington Post. Hedges will be talk about the coming budget hurdles facing the state of Colorado.

The conference will also include panel discussions about, “The Peaks and Valleys of running your own Business,” and “Funding Options for your Business.” Workshops will include social media for business, hot topics in employment law and how to do a knock-your-socks-off loan application.
