Possum Logic has two songwriters, and a whole heap of musicians to dish out rocking, funky, bluesy tunes.

During a show, Possum Logic swings from funk to slamgrass to soul to blues to newgrass and beyond. The band formerly known as Acoustic Semi plays the Half Moon Saloon in West Vail today at 10 p.m.

“It’s going to be a rock and roll, ripping-good-ole-time of a night,” promised Pete Kartsounes, acoustic and electric lead guitar, vocals and harmonica. “That’s what Brendan (McNaughton) and I love, sucking a crowd in and taking them places. It’s hard with original music, but so far we’ve been able to do it. It’s kind of assuring to know that.”

Kartsounes and McNaughton (acoustic and rhythm guitars, vocals) share songwriting duties, in addition to pumping up the crowd while on stage. For more information on the band, call the Moon at 476-4314.
