Snow back in Vail’s forecast Tuesday

VAIL, Colorado – A bit of snow and colder temperatures are in the forecast for Vail before Christmas Day.

The bulk of the next winter storm will begin hitting the mountain of southern Colorado Tuesday but the mountains around Vail could get between 3 and 8 inches of snow by Wednesday night, the National Weather Service says.

Snow is likely after 11 a.m. Tuesday with a high near 35. The Weather Service says to expect less than an inch in town. One to 2 inches could fall Tuesday night, with lows around 21, the Weather Service says.

Snow is likely again on Wednesday and Wednesday night, with highs in the mid-20s and lows overnight around 9.

A chance of snow lingers into Thursday, along with colder temperatures. The low for Thursday night is minus 1.
