Snow creeps back into Vail forecast

VAIL – Snow showers should bring several more inches of snow to Vail Friday, the National Weather Service says.

The forecast is for showers to begin Friday afternoon, bringing 1 to 3 inches to Vail. Another 2 to 4 inches could fall Friday night, the National Weather Service says. The chance of snow throughout Friday and Friday night is 80 percent.

Snow could continue Saturday morning and afternoon and there is slight chance of snow Saturday night. The forecast for Sunday, Monday and Tuesday is mostly sunny.



The Weather Service expects the next storm to move in Wednesday.

The Vail Valley has been getting snow again after a dry period. Vail and Beaver Creek mountain Thursday afternoon were reporting 15 inches in the last seven days. Vail Mountain, which closes April 18, has gotten a total of 238 inches this season. The average for a season is 350 inches.
