Snow expected through Monday
Vail, CO Colorado
VAIL, Colorado – The high-mountain areas around Vail could see their first significant snowfall of the year over the next few days.
Elevations over 10,000 feet could see 4-6 inches Saturday, while accumulation in the valley is unlikely, said Paul Frisbie, meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Grand Junction. A rain-snow mix is expected to continue in town today, tapering off through the day, Frisbie said.
A winter storm warning was issued for the Vail area through noon Saturday.
Another storm is headed in on Monday that could bring up to a foot of snow to Vail Pass and accumulation to the valley, Frisbie said.
