VAIL – Snow is sneaking up on springtime in Vail again.

Yes, a few more inches of the white stuff are in the forecast today and tomorrow.

Showers are likely this afternoon and the rain could turn to snow late tonight and Wednesday morning, the National Weather Service says.

About an inch could be on the ground by Wednesday morning and another inch could fall during the day Wednesday and on Wednesday night. The Weather Service says more snow could fall on Vail Pass.

It should stay warmer this afternoon, but temperatures will drop into the 30s during the day Wednesday, when there is a 70 percent chance of rain and snow, the Weather Service says.

A chance of rain and snow lingers into Thursday but Friday should be partly sunny, though there is a chance of scattered showers throughout the weekend, the Weather Service says.
