VAIL — Ski patrol located the body of 25-year-old snowboarder Logan Salviano on Vail Mountain Thursday. Salviano was last seen on Tuesday, and Vail Mountain was notified that he was missing on Wednesday.

Salviano was found “off of an expert run on the front side of the mountain,” a Vail Mountain spokesperson wrote in a release. “He was transported off the mountain where he was pronounced dead by the Eagle County Coroner’s Office.”

Coroner Kara Bettis said Salviano was found in a tree well.

“You could see Chairs 3 and 4 from where he was,” she said Saturday. “We don’t know his cause of death at this time. He is being autopsied this week.”

On a gofundme.com page set up to help with Salviano’s funeral costs, his cousin says he was a caring and sensitive brother, son and person.

“Logan was a kind and gentle soul who did the “right things” in life,” his cousin wrote. “He graduated from college and worked while traveling the states having fun and enjoying life.”

Salviano was an employee at Vail Mountain’s Two Elk Lodge and was not working at the time.

Sheriff’s spokesperson Jessie Mosher said the sheriff’s department surveyed the scene on Thursday.

“We ruled it was non criminal,” she said.

Bettis said the results of Salviano’s autopsy should be complete at the beginning of next week.
