Son runs into trouble at Eagle gas station

Eagle Valley Enterprise
Eagle, CO Colorado

EAGLE, Colorado ” A report of a fight at the Eagle, Colorado Loaf ‘n’ Jug gas pumps prompted a police call. By the time the cops arrived, the people involved had driven off in separate vehicles.

Police were able to catch up with one of the vehicles, a black Lamborghini, near Gypsum. The man driving acknowledged that he had been involved in a verbal argument with his son at the Loaf and Jug. The two were arguing over the fact that the son had been arrested in Avon the previous night for underage possession of alcohol, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. The parents drove from their home in Grand Junction to help the son get his vehicle back home.

While fueling up their respective cars, the father and son argued over the situation. The son, declaring that he would kill himself rather than go back to jail, drove off.

The father did not know where the teen had gone, but suspected he was just trying to sleep off the previous night’s debacle. The cops were able to locate the teen’s car at a local motel, where he had rented a room. A routine check revealed the young man was wanted on an active assault warrant out of Florida. The youth was taken into custody.
