Sonnenalp in Vail welcomes new executive chef
VAIL CO, Colorado
The Sonnenalp Resort of Vail announced new Executive Chef Steve Topple will take over this winer. Topple will head up Ludwig’s, Bully Ranch, Swiss Chalet, King’s Club and Balata restaurants for the resort. There will be new changes to all the menus, including the addition of more seafood to the cuisine. With Topple’s European experience and worldly approach to cuisine, he was the obvious choice to take on Sonnenalp’s five restaurants.
Topple was born and raised in the United Kingdom, where he studied culinary arts before working in restaurants from London to Scotland. In 1999, he traveled across the Atlantic to continue his culinary journey in the United States. He worked at several acclaimed restaurants around the country including Postrio, Wolfgang Puck’s establishment in San Francisco. Topple was welcomed as Executive Chef at Beano’s Cabin in Beaver Creek in 2006.
Topple has two published cookbooks, one of which was released in 2011, called “Chef Steve Topple Signatures.” It showcases Topple’s rustic-yet-elegant style.
