The Sonnenalp Resort of Vail has landed on the “World’s Best Hotels Overall” list in Travel + Leisure Magazine’s annual World’s Best Awards, which will be featured in its August issue. Readers participating in the 15th annual survey gave the Sonnenalp a score of 92.52, ranking it 69th on the list. The only other Colorado hotel recognized on the list of Top 100 Hotels Overall was the Little Nell in Aspen, ranked at number 86. Hotels were rated in the following categories: rooms/facilities, location, service, restaurants/food and value. The Sonnenalp was also one of only four Colorado resorts ranked among the Top 50 Resorts in the Continental U.S. and Canada. Sonnenalp was ranked sixth, up from 28 in 2009. Other Colorado resorts making the list included the Little Nell, the Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch and The Broadmoor. “This is such a great honor, and we thank the readers of Travel + Leisure for this recognition,” said Patricia McNamara, Director of Sales & Marketing at the Sonnenalp. “We strive every day to provide our guests with an exceptional resort experience and it is very rewarding when our efforts pay off, whether on a prestigious list such as this, or simply by making a guest’s day.”To see the list of the Top 100 Hotels Overall, go to http://www.travelandleisure.com/worldsbest/2010.
