‘Sound of Music’ on stage in Breck

BRECKENRIDGE ” The Backstage Theatre in Breckenridge presents the classic Rodgers and Hammerstein musical, “The Sound of Music,” at 7:30 p.m. today through Sunday at the Riverwalk.
This production is a fully-staged version of the beloved musical which tells the story of the Von Trapp family singers and their struggles growing up during the rise of fascism in Europe.
Featured in the cast are Heidi Anderson as Maria, David Soucie as Von Trapp, Gayle Knorr as Mother Abbesss, Glen Graber as Max, Murphy Funkhouser as Elsa, Courtney Capek as Liesl, Benjamin Cowhick as Rolf, Kody Berkley as Friedrick, Kristina Middlebrook as Louisa, Thomas Walsh as Kurt, Jessica Mancini as Brigitta, Cait McCluskie as Marta, and Shawnee Knapper as Gretl. The supporting cast includes Sandra Willis, Danni Barger, Theresa Barger, Carrie Curtis, Jeanne Macsata, Wendy King, Kathleen Moore, Steve Collins, Gail Westwood, Thomas Watkins, Rob Janzen and Austin Miller.
The show is directed by Metro State musical theatre instructor, Scott Lubinski. The production staff includes stage manager Kitty Angell, set designer Michael Grittner, lighting designer David Mroch, costume designer Mary Lorch, property designer Jacquelyn Lies and sound designer Christopher Willard. Scott Lubinski is lead pianist. Ricky Daley is second keyboardist.
