What goods or services do you provide?

We specialize in print and web design. We have created annual reports, t-shirt designs, web sites, animated banners, magazine ads and layout. It goes on and on, hence the name Soup 2 Nuts.

What’s new or exciting at your place?

We have started building a lot of our client’s websites using Word Press, which is an open source content management tool for websites. Once the site is built, the client assumes control and can then take over and change or update the sites content themselves. No more going back to the developer to make changes! This tool saves the client a lot of time and money. The other great thing about using Word Press is there are thousands of pre-designed templates available, so as a designer you don’t have to start from scratch. You can adapt the client’s brand and “look and feel” to existing templates. Again saving a lot of time and money.

What strategy do you use to differentiate your business from your competition?

One stop shopping. We offer both print design and web design, which is a great advantage for the client. By offering a complete marketing package, we can provide a clean and consistent look across multiple media; print, online, promotional and more.

What philosophy do you follow in dealing with your customers?

“The customer is always right.” We are here to guide our clients, with lots of suggestions, in the right direction. By definition we work with the client so that we can come up with the right outcome for their business.

What can your customers expect from you?

We are always there for the client. If something pressing comes along that the client needs to have right away, we will do everything we can, we go the extra mile. The client’s deadline is our deadline. We have strong relationships with a hand-selected group of development and technology resources to meet our clients’ needs.

Tell us a little about your background, education and experience:

I come from New Hampshire and graduated with a BA in graphic design from UNH, Plymouth Campus. I have been working in my field since the day I graduated from college. Not many people can say that these days. I started out as a designer for a T-shirt company and moved into the corporate world as a graphic artist. In 1995, my (programmer) husband and I came to the valley for “one season” to get away from the corporate world. Well you know how that story goes. During the years, I have worked for four different agencies in the valley and have done plenty of freelance work.

What is the most humorous thing that has happened at your business since you opened?

I can’t really think of anything too humorous that has happened at my business with the exception of some of the work I have been asked to do. I don’t really want to get into the details since it’s not appropriate for this article!
