Editor’s note: Spa Report is a new feature the Vail Daily will be running a few times a month about spa treatments around the valley. Know of something we should check out? E-mail cschnell@vaildaily.com.

The spa: Pure Life Skin Care, 275 Main Street #C101 (in the Garnet building in Riverwalk); 970-926-0906.

The treatment: Collagen Hyaluronic Intensive facial, 75 minutes, $214 (on special for $169 and includes a take-home bottle of peptide serum).

This spa is for: Anyone looking for a quieter, low-key option than the resort spas offer.

First impressions: This spa is located on the back side of Riverwalk’s Garnet building, facing the Eagle River. It’s a small, cozy spa, and about as opposite as you can get from some of the giant resort spas dotting Eagle County, but that’s also its allure – especially for busy professionals looking to get in and get out. With knowledgable aesthetician Darcy Buster at the helm, the focus here is entirely on your skin.

The treatment was: Effective. My skin has been clear and looked more polished since I had it done last week.

This 75-minute treatment is the cadillac anti-aging facial that Paris-based Sothys skincare line offers.

“I consider it their best facial,” Buster told me. Buster begins the treatment by “grading” your skin and determining your skin’s age (which may or may not match your actual age). That number dictates which of the four anti-aging Sothys serums Buster will use on your face. This facial includes five steps: a mineral microdermabrasion to exfoliate the skin; a hyaluronic replenish serum; an elasticity revealer serum; a plumping balm; a customized collagen lifting mask and a final anti-aging peptide serum.

Buster also uses steam on your face, does extractions and uses a Clarisonic brush on your face for a deeper exfoliation using ultrasonic waves. In between the steps, Buster massaged my face (it felt heavenly), my hands and my feet. For a treatment referred to as a “facial,” my whole body felt pampered.

Specials: In honor of the spa’s 10th anniversary, Buster is offering 10 percent off all retail (20 percent with purchase of a facial) and a handful of $65 facials. Vail Daily readers will recieve the Collagen Hyaluronic Anti-Aging Facial with a bottle of peptide serum to take home for $169 (regular $214).

Make the most of your visit: Meet a girlfriend for tea or a crepe at the nearby Bookworm before or after your treatment to make it a wholly relaxing day.

Know before you go: Each facial includes a hand and foot massage. On top of face and body treatments, Buster also offers lash and brow tinting and waxing.
