Speak up

Shawn Jones
Edwards

I am so tired of wishy-washy commentary by Don Rogers, Richard Carnes, and the rest of you conservative literary hacks trying to defend the current state of our dying country.

Don, your commentary on “Our crisis of bloviation” could have been edited to read, “I don’t know how to defend the actions of our administration, so I’ll just regurgitate W.’s lies and bash on Dems because some of them own mega-homes in Aspen. Typical. You could have just said, “I don’t know where I stand, but I am brainwashed to think this way and I’m going to stand by it.”

Simply saying that Republicans are jerks and proud of it only admits that you are OK with secrets, lies, incompetance, and to be quite honest stupidity, as long as everyone is up front about it. I can’t stand it any more, I grow more and more furious every day that I wake and see more of our civil liberties eroded or lies covered up by more lies. Just because you, Fox News, and heartland America believe a lie doesn’t make true.

I am no longer proud to say that I am an American. The last six years of this bumbling idiocy has made me to say the least cynical. I have zero faith in our government to do the right thing in ANY situation.

I cut off my first letter before I finished on accident, but since I know you dont have the stones to print it anyway, I’m just going to keep writing letters until i see them printed. Anyway, I am angry, hardened and bitter. I am growing more so every day, and I am sure that I am not the only one.

Participate in The Longevity Project

The Longevity Project is an annual campaign to help educate readers about what it takes to live a long, fulfilling life in our valley. This year Kevin shares his story of hope and celebration of life with his presentation Cracked, Not Broken as we explore the critical and relevant topic of mental health.

So here is a challenge to the valley’s thinking few. Stop sitting around the house, self-medicating, and speak up! I’m tired of whining and complaining to no one. Let’s build a unified voice that has one message, loud and clear! We are tired of being lied to, we are tired of losing our civil liberties, we are tired of our government doing all the wrong things in every situation, and finally, we are tired of waking up every day knowing that the leader of the “free” world is no smarter than Paris Hilton!

I am going to be very blunt by saying that I could have done a better job of running our country and I’m a 30-year old restaraunt worker!Speak up! Everyone who still has a backbone, let’s flood every possible venue with our hatred of these bumbling IDIOTS!

If we don’t make our voices heard, we can only expect to be rolled over again and again and again. And I am tired of it. History is repeating itself. In the ”60s and ”70s we made our voices heard by any means neccesary. Those times have come again.
