Speakers named for April travel symposium

VAIL Speakers and workshops have been scheduled for the 33rd Annual Mountain Travel Symposium to be held April 6 12 at the Vail Cascade Resort & Spa.The symposium is expected to draw more than 1,100 marketing and sales travel executives to Vail. The theme for this years forum is Networking and Relationships. In the first general session April 9, author and marketing consultant Rick Barrera will look at well-worn marketing clichs and turn them upside down. On April 10, Dr. Lalia Rach, an educator and marketing and product-branding consultant who specializes in forecasting trends, will deliver another keynote presentation. Rach was recently named by Travel Weekly magazine as one of the 33 most influential people in the travel industry. The conference also includes trade and group exchanges, which are business-to-business trade shows in which participants meet to discuss mutual business opportunities. The Destination Mountain Travel Forum will focus on the forces at work in the mountain travel industry. That forsum will feature nationally known speakers and group workshops on topics ranging from new business development to e-commerce to sustainability.A variety of events and activities will take place throughout the week. Symposium sponsors include Vail Resorts, the town of Vail, and the Vail Cascade Resort & Spa.
