SpeakUp ReachOut is partnering with Vail Valley Partnership’s Vail Valley Works and United Suicide Survivors International to bring the H.O.P.E Certification Workplace Wellbeing Summit to Eagle County on Friday, April 11, 2025. The Summit will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the 4 Eagle Ranch in Wolcott.

“The Workplace Wellbeing Summit brings together major employers in our region to create sustainable strategies that address workplace mental health and worker wellbeing, including suicide prevention, overdose prevention and addiction recovery,” said Erin Ivie, SpeakUp ReachOut’s executive director. “Saving lives starts with changing our workplace and community culture to support the mental health and wellbeing of our region’s workforce.”

The H.O.P.E. Certification Workplace Wellbeing Summit is designed for employers — including nonprofit organizations, for-profit corporations, health care systems and government agencies — with 30 or more employees who are ready to learn about and engage in implementing best practices in workplace mental health and recovery. Registration starts at $250 for teams of 5-10 (not per person), and sponsorship opportunities are available for organizations who would like to further invest in community change. Employers are encouraged to send decision-makers and team members who are involved with processes such as workplace policy and human resources. Registration is now available online at SpeakUpReachOut.org/educational-events/workplace-wellbeing-summit.

“This is a highly engaging and interactive event where participants collaborate to create tailored roadmaps that align the nine best practices in workplace wellbeing and suicide prevention with their organization’s own unique needs and culture,” said Dr. Sally Spencer-Thomas, United Suicide Survivors International President and Lead H.O.P.E. Certification Trainer. “The Summit empowers teams with tools and knowledge to foster a healthier and more supportive work environment, promote overall worker wellbeing, and plant the seeds of change for the entire community.”

The H.O.P.E. Certification Worker Wellbeing Summit was developed by Spencer-Thomas and is implemented by United Suicide Survivors International in partnership with regional champions like SpeakUp ReachOut. H.O.P.E. Certification utilizes nine evidence-based best practices developed from decades of research, literature, and lived experience. Attendees at the Summit are also introduced to the full H.O.P.E. Certification process, which allows agencies to take a deeper dive into culture shifts, policy changes and workplace wellbeing.

“The Workplace Wellbeing Summit allows us to not only make change in our own organizations and businesses, but also to develop well-informed change-makers who can create a ripple effect for saving lives in our entire region,” Ivie said.
