Spend an evening with the ski team in Vail
VAIL – The World Cup Dreams Foundation is hosting An Evening with the National Alpine Ski Team at the Arrabelle at Vail Square on Nov. 13 at 5:30 p.m.
The event includes auctions, dinner, drinks and the opportunity to spend the evening with members of the ski team, including Erik Fisher, Scott Macartney, Steven Nyman, Marco Sullivan, Keely Kelleher, Jessica Kelley, Chelsea Marshall, Megan McJames, Leanne Smith, Jake Zamansky, Alice McKennis, Laurenne Ross, Travis Ganong and others.
The event will include silent and live auctions, featuring signed athlete equipment and memorabilia, one-of-a-kind artwork created specifically for the event, a cocktail party for 20 at the “Sleeper” house in Genesee, and a day of skiing with former Olympic and World Cup Skiers.
“This event is a unique opportunity to directly support the best skiers in the country,” said Executive Director Jennifer Vance. “A significant number of the current national team members are responsible for providing their own funding for the upcoming season. Proceeds raised at this event (and others like it throughout the country) will be returned to the athletes in the form of grants,”
The World Cup Dreams Foundation is a nonprofit founded in 2005 by former U.S. Ski Team Members, Bryon Friedman and Erik Schlopy to help raise vital funds and provide disability insurance for alpine skiers at the national team level and above. Since its inception, the World Cup Dreams Foundation has awarded more than $100,000 in financial grants to nearly a dozen U.S. Ski Team members. Previous recipients include Chris Beckman, Kevin Francis, Caroline Lalive, Todd Lodwick, Paul McDonald, Dane Spencer, Jeremy Transue and Jake Zamansky.
