Spring burn planned in Eagle County

EAGLE COUNTY, Colorado ” The federal Bureau of Land Management is planning a controlled burn in the coming weeks about one mile north of State Bridge in Eagle County, Colorado.

The agency will set a 600-acre fire on Yarmony Mountain as early as March 16 in an effort to reduce dead trees and brush that could fuel wildfires. The burn should also allow new vegetation to grow to provide food for wildlife. This will be the second burn in a multi-year project covering 2,396 acres.

The agency also plans burns about two miles southeast of Kremmling, between Grand County Road 33 and the Colorado River in Grand County, and 10 miles southwest of Kremmling, along Trough Road and the Colorado River, also in Grand County.
