‘Star Light Star Bright’ comes to Beaver Creek
VAIL CO, Colorado
BEAVER CREEK – A time-honored tradition in the Vail Valley returns this weekend, as area high school students take the Vilar Center stage for the annual community show, this year named “Star Light Star Bright” and taking place on Friday and Saturday at 6:30 p.m.
“Star Light Star Bright” will feature students from Vail Youth Ballet Company, Vail Academy of Dance, Vail Performing Arts Academy and Battle Mountain High School Mixed Jazz Choir. Tickets are $20, and proceeds go to the Vilar Center’s Community Performance Fund, which supports cultural education initiatives at the Vilar Center.
“This is a great time of year to come out to the VPAC and witness the talent of our local rising stars,” said Kris Sabel, executive director for the Vilar Center. “Hosting these groups in our venue is one of the most rewarding experiences for our staff – seeing these students take the same stage as Ringo Starr did this summer, it’s really special for us and for the students.”
Act 1 of this weekend’s performances will be “Sleeping Beauty – Act III Aurora’s Wedding” performed by the Vail Youth Ballet Company with Vail Academy of Dance Students. Act II will feature “Into the Light,” a new Bob Fosse piece recently set on the Vail Youth Ballet Company by internationally acclaimed choreographer Parker Esse, followed by performances by the Vail Performing Arts Academy and Battle Mountain High School Mixed Jazz Choir, named “Altitude,” who will focus on vocal jazz.
Tickets for Star Light Star Bright are on sale now and available online at vilarpac.org, by phone at 970-845-TIXS or in person at the Vilar Center box office in Beaver Creek.
The person found in the Blue River on Monday afternoon has been identified as John Scott Still, 53, according to the Summit County Coroner’s Office.
