‘State of the River’ meeting is tonight
The annual “State of the River” community meeting will be held 5:30 to 8 p.m. today at Colorado Mountain College in Edwards. The meeting organize by the Eagle River Water & Sanitation District, the Colorado River District and the Eagle River Watershed Council, combines multiple speakers and topics into an evening program.
It is free and open to the public. A light dinner is provided from 5:30 to 6 p.m. before the presentations begin.
The agenda includes:
• An update on this season’s snowpack, streamflow, and climate by Wendy Ryan of the Colorado Climate Center.
• Lessons from the 2012 drought and planning for the future, by Linn Brooks of the Eagle River Water & Sanitation District.
• “Landscaping with a Penny Wise and Pound Foolish Plan: A major contributing factor in watershed problems,” presented by Glen Ellison, Land Designs by Ellison.
